A Reason to Blog?
This is my first night blogging. I am an art teacher in Georgia (and have been for the past 10 years). I also am a wife and a mother of two. Why am I blogging now you ask… because my husband, Dan, and I have decided to pack our family up for a 9 week adventure to summer camp. Yes - summer camp. He is a fundraiser and works for this camp. When they heard I was an art teacher, kidding around they asked him if I would like a summer job - to his amazement I was extremely interested. I grew up going to camp every summer and working at arts and crafts at both sleepaway and day camps. I am thrilled to be heading out for 2 months as Art Director for his camp. A few perks - babysitter for the girls (Lily, age 2 and Sophie, age “almost 5″), eating in the dining hall (no cooking or grocery shopping) and laundry pick- up! I signed up immediately! On the downside - our family will be sharing one large room (I like to think of it as a studio apartment (just going to pretend I am in Manhattan). I think that this has the makings for an fun and art filled adventure with laughter, tears, plenty of paint and more. As for starting right now (9:20 on a Friday night)… it is pure procrastination. We are leaving Monday morning and our house is cluttered with half packed crates and duffel bags. I am supposed to be pulling out the baby wipes and 5 bottles of sunscreen, instead I sat down on the couch and ended up here. Keep checking back to see where our adventure leads and all the bumps along the way!

ReplyDeleteDear Mom and 2 monkeys: This is from lost in space without you. So am i to believe that the princess has actually received a comeuppance? I'm terribly shocked and mortified that the perfect child of all time could be felled from her lofty though dramatic perch by being a little bossy. I'm more concerned to learn that luluLily, the jewish swimming hope, actually has a boy friend

the update is a hoot. We'll have to get you and Dan set up with a good pair of hiking boots, well actually make that 2 pair. Looking forward to seeing you all the weekend of July 10th. Took a big room at the B&B so we can cage 2 monkeys. It sounds like everything is great, a kick in the nose not withstanding. Hope the 2 monkeys remember us...Love Lyn and gbp, pres of SOLITOOL/KNIFE CO.
